Group courses
Each term I run a series of 10-week group courses at a fixed hourly slot each week for around 5 students. Each course is designed to cover an element of the syllabus for the ISEB Common Pre-Test across Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Each child receives a progress report.
1-1 tuition
I offer a limited number of individual 1-1 lesson slots each week to work with students on an individual basis. We always begin with an initial assessment and follow a bespoke programme targeting specific weaknesses. If you are interested in individual tutoring, please contact me to join the waiting list.
Tuition packages
I offer discounted packages of 10 , 20 and 40 hours which are paid for upfront with guaranteed availability to be used within a specific period of time. If this is your first time working with me, then we will begin with an initial assessment and discuss a plan from there.

Case studies
X struggled with time pressure
X struggled with maths and was very anxious about timing in exams. After identifying weaknesses, we explained each topic in turn clearly. After the first lesson, he clearly understood mixed numbers/improper fractions for the first time. Over the next few months, we dealt with the anxiety by working through examples together with gradually-increasing time pressure. After a year of working together, X got the highest mark in his class maths test.
Y was over confident
Y was applying from an international school, where he was the top student. He was so used to being right that his way of coping with wrong answers was to ignore them and to ignore me when I tried to explain. He was so over confident that he believed he knew everything and did not need help. First we had to address this mindset psychologically and then he really began to learn. After failing the first time, he was invited back to do a retest for Eton List Test in Year 7 and after 1 year was awarded a place at Eton with straight As in Common Entrance.
Z was too fast
Z was really struggling with focus and rushing to answer questions. As the ISEB Pre-Test is adaptive, this meant that, despite being very intelligent, he was consistently doing very badly on practice tests. We spent the first few months reviewing areas of weakness. We then had several months of practising together exam technique, practising eliminating all wrong answers and paying closer attention to answers. His SAS score improved from 100 to 120 in 5 months and he secured places from Eton, Westminster, Brighton College and other schools.
