Services I Provide
1-1 Tuition
£100 per hour
I offer 1-1 bespoke tuition for students across English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning for stage 1 and 2 school exams such as the ISEB Pre-Test and then help with interview practice and cover all subjects at Common Entrance and Scholarship level.
Group lessons
£50 per hour (paid upfront)
Each term, I run 10-week group courses in English/Verbal Reasoning (1 hour a week) and Maths/Non-Verbal Reasoning (1 hour a week) for 5-10 students in Y5 and Y6 of similar abilities. We cover all the main topics of the ISEB Common Pre-Test syllabus. Each student has their own report.
Placements
Price on application
I offer bespoke, in-person residential placements for 1-2 weeks worldwide working with a student for up to 8 hours a day. This intensive tuition is usually in preparation for an upcoming exam and I have previously worked with clients in Africa, Middle East, Europe, China, UK and USA.
Consultancy
£295 for initial consultation
In an initial consultation, we will have a 1-hour appointment to discuss your child's ability, progress and needs, consider school options and develop a strategy. After the meeting, I will draft a strategy with a portfolio of a long-list of 5-8 schools, assessment dates and schedule.
My 3-step process to success
Assessment
I always start with an informal assessment (one-off cost of £200) to find any areas of weakness and gently to test exam technique such as how the student deals with time pressure. I then complete a report with a strategy to meet your goals and make development suggestions.
Action
I will do targeted practice on areas of weakness and continue to measure progress with lesson-by-lesson reports. I will build up confidence with incremental time-pressured exercises. As we approach exam deadlines, we will increasingly do mock exams together.
Achievement
After passing stage 1 exams such as the ISEB Common Pre-Test, I will help with interview practice and targeted practice for school-specific exams. I then help with long-term preparation for Y8 Common Entrance or Scholarship exams and am available for advice along the way.
